Term Assistant Professor in Classical Studies
The George Mason University, Department of Modern and Classical Languages is looking to hire a one-year renewable position for a Term Assistant Professor in Classical Studies to begin August, 2018. Teaching responsibilities are 12 credit hours (= four courses) of undergraduate instruction per semester: Greek and Roman literature in translation, mythology, special topics in ancient culture and reception. Service responsibilities include some undergraduate advising.
Required Qualifications:
- M.A. in Classics
- Demonstrated excellence in college teaching at the undergraduate level
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D in Classics
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
