WOMEN’S, GENDER, AND SEXUALITY STUDIES
The Departments of English and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) invite outstanding applicants for a one-year, full-time position in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Description of position:
The Departments of English and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) seek a full-time instructor for the 2018-19 academic year to teach Approaches to Literature (a 200-level required course for English majors), Feminist Theories, and any of the following cross-listed literature courses: British and American Women Writers, Men and Masculinities: Literary Perspectives, Caribbean Women Writers, Queer Literature, Global Women Writers, or Asian American Literature: Gendered Readings. The successful candidate may also be invited to teach a literature course of their own devising that emphasizes intersectional feminist/queer critical strategies. Teaching load is seven course sections (4-3 load) for the academic year. Fall classes begin on August 28. Syllabi from past semesters are available for review.
Qualifications:
Minimum of MA, PhD in English preferred, with a strong background in literary theory and an undergraduate major or minor, graduate certificate, or graduate degree in gender studies (or a strong emphasis on gender analysis in the candidate’s research program). Significant teaching experience is recommended.
