The Department of English at Franklin & Marshall College invites applications for a one-year visiting position in American literature before 1900, beginning Fall Semester 2018. We particularly welcome candidates with pre-1800 expertise. Applicants must demonstrate scholarly activity and a commitment to undergraduate teaching. Applicants should possess a doctorate degree or be on track to complete it by June 30, 2018. Rank will be as a visiting assistant professor or visiting instructor depending on qualifications. The 3/2 teaching load will include no composition.
