English Composition Term Assistant Professor
The George Mason University Department of English seeks applicants for a full-time one-year renewable position (Term Assistant Professor or Term Instructor) to begin in the fall 2018 semester. Responsibilities:
Primary responsibility will be to teach first-year composition and/or advanced composition (separate sections of advanced compositions offered for business, humanities, social science, science/technology majors, and a multidisciplinary version). Schedule may include classes that begin as early as 7:30 a.m. or as late as 7:20 p.m.
This position requires presence on the Fairfax Campus; it cannot be carried out remotely.
Qualifications:
MA in English or Rhetoric and Composition required; PhD in these fields or MFA in creative writing preferred.
Graduate coursework in pedagogy and training and experience in online writing experience strongly preferred.
Benefits included. Four courses per semester.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
