Primary Responsibilities:
- Teach the equivalent of 12 hours per semester in undergraduate and graduate English courses that may include literature surveys, American Cross-Cultural and Multicultural Literature, Ethnic Writers, American Literature and Culture, and Composition.
- Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students
- Maintain active scholarly work in the field
- Serve on university, college, and department level committees
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or ABD (Ph.D. by August 2018) in English or closely related field (Degree must be from a regionally accredited or internationally accredited/government certified university).
- Secondary area of specialization open, which may include: American drama, postcolonial studies, women’s, gender and/or LGBTQ studies
- Experience teaching at the college/university level as a graduate assistant, instructor or above
- Demonstrated evidence of scholarly work, i.e. research and/or publications
- Demonstrated strong English communication skills
- Demonstrated evidence of successful online teaching and/or online course development
- Demonstrated ability or potential to incorporate technology into the face-to-face classroom and to teach blended, ITV and online courses.
- Demonstrated commitment to collegiality when interacting with others within the University community
- Demonstrated commitment to a diverse work environment, including working with multi-cultural populations and an understanding of, and sensitivity to, issues affecting women and minorities
